WEBSITE NEWS FROM OCT 2013
2013 was our 90th Anniversary! and to celebrate; apart from our new website, we are pleased to announce that this year we have offered working tests for Junior Handlers and Novice Dog/Novice Handlers, as well as providing our usual Puppy, Novice and Open working tests. 2013 was also the year Northumberland and Durham were pioneers in offering people the option of online payment and entry for our working tests as well as applying for and renewing membership online. At present you can only enter our Field Trials by post. In 2013 we also hosted the annual Four Way local club working test in July which saw Northumberland and Durham win top team and Mr Mike Nelson and Leader Blue, running for N & D; taking Top Dog and Handler of the day. Well done! Having already held one very successful Open Show in February this year; we followed this up with a brilliant Championship Show on the 5th October at our new venue - the very beautiful Kirkley Hall. The day was a great success with a record number of
entrants; and the committee pulled out the stops to entertain competitors and spectators with a history of the club for the past 90 years - even dressing in 1920's costume to serve glasses of bubbly and light snacks to everyone. For more details of the day please visit our show diary page. A printable list of the results is available on our Show Results page.
Many congratulations to the Northumberland and Durham team of Mark Demaine, Jayne Coley and Russell Hodgen, for gaining 2nd. place at the Chatsworth Country Fair Retriever event. This great result means automatic qualification for next year's event!Dates are now available for our 2014 Shows Field Trials for 2013 are now over.
