NOVICE AND OPEN WORKING TESTS - 30th june 2024, eggleston fell.
We held the final working test of the season today at the superb Eggleston Fell estate, by kind permission of Eggleston Estates and Gamekeeper, Mr Robert Beadle.
Can we firstly thank Lee Hartis, who has done a great job, since stepping in as Working Test Secretary last year as well as him being our Field Trial Secretary, to ensure we could put on our test events. It is greatly appreciated.
This year we offered a Novice and Open set of tests on a ground that is recognised for its challenges! Which the dogs always seem to love. The weather was good and a brisk wind managed to keep away MOST of the midges.
The atmosphere throughout the day was excellent with everyone enjoying the day and the company of likeminded people.
Our sincere gratitude to Judges, Keith Eastwood, Brian Dodsworth, Becki Thistle and Ronnie Laughton. Thanks so much for giving up your free time to allow others to enjoy working their dogs.
Our utmost gratitude goes to the team of helpers for dummy throwing today and throughout the season – you are all stars, dealing with the weather and difficult terrain. These days cannot go ahead without you. Our helpers were all given a gift with our thanks.
Massive thanks to committee member Anna Coates once again, for sorting the catering for judges and refreshments for judges and helpers today and throughout the season, which was very welcome and very much appreciated. Also thanks to the other committee members and non-committee members who helped out at our events. Also thanks to all who provided raffle prizes.
We are indebted to our Sponsors SKINNER’S AND SPORTING SAINT who both provided vouchers and gifts for award winners, with SPORTING SAINT providing £20 vouchers for the highest scoring dogs, today in Novice and Open. We are also very grateful to HALSTED GUNDOG ACADEMY for providing complimentary access to training advice to our Novice and Open winners today

Congratulations to all the award winners and everyone taking part. We hope you have enjoyed competing with us again this year.
Northumberland and Durham L.R.C. held their third working test of the 2024 season at the beautiful Streatlam Park on the 16thJune by very kind permission of Mrs Karen Cotton, daughter of Captain Pease.
We sadly informed all attending that Captain Pease had sadly passed away earlier this year and our sincere condolences had been sent to his family at the time. The Club made a donation in his memory to his chosen charity Help for Heroes. Committee Member, Bill Lambell attended the memorial service in Bishop Auckland on the Club’s behalf.
Mrs Cotton had informed the Club that she wished the working test to go ahead for which we were very grateful and the day did not disappoint.
Streatlam Park has always been a popular test ground with the numbers attending reflecting this each year. Despite the larger entry meaning a later end time, the atmosphere was brilliant - as you would expect from a group of likeminded gundog people meeting for a very good day out with their dogs in stunning surroundings.
With around 60 entries, our Judges Mr Dick Sorley, Ms Charlotte Brown, Mrs Claire Carvis and Mrs Eden Parish gave their time freely to judge for us today and generously assisting competitors with timely advice if needed. They did a great job of setting fair but challenging tests, allowing the dogs to be realistically stretched in each category.
The day flowed well and ended with a raffle, with many thanks to our very kind donators.
Our very generous sponsors Skinner’s, Sporting Saint and Halsted Gundog Academy, provided vouchers, goodie bags and complimentary access to training advice. The £20 Sporting Saint Voucher this week went to the highest scoring PUPPY - Lorna Keen with Brockenburn Magic
Club trophies were also awarded to our first placed member winners as follows:
PUPPY
1st Lorna Keen with BROCKENBURN MAGIC and also awarded the Capercail Trophy.
2nd Roy Stewart with TARNEDGE CHAMPOLLY ROSE
After a run off for 3rd and 4th
3rd Matthew Wilson with FINNO STAR
4th Becki Thistle with CARDUEAE LILAC
NOVICE
1st Lee Hartis handling BUCCLEUCH IANNA OF HIGHBIRD also awarded the Captain Pease Trophy. (Owner M. Lupton)
2nd Carol Anne Wainwright with KENTWONE THYME NIGHT
3rd Cameron Brown with KENYNTEN OKOYE
4th Lynda Currie with HOLMECLIFFE’S PIPPAS GIFT
OPEN
1st Lee Hartis with KENTWONE COLUMBINE OF LEACAZ and also awarded the Wolviston Cup

3rd Jane Bell with HAYABANK NELL
4th Brian Dodsworth with HAZELOAKS GOOSE
COM Becki Thistle with CARDUEAE HAZEL
COM David McBurney with LOGANBELL SUZY OF SAN JUAN
Congratulations to all the winners and also to everyone taking part today. It was an enjoyable day with nice weather (apart from 10 minutes rain).
Last but certainly not least, we cannot thank enough the people who volunteered to throw and place dummies. This helps the tests run effectively and we urge everyone to give up a little of their time to ensure we are not reliant on the same good natured volunteers time after time.
See you all at Eggleston Fell in a couple of weeks.

Northumberland and Durham L.R.C. held their CENTENARY WORKING TESTS at the prestigious FORD and ETAL estate in Northumberland on 17th June 2023. The club also provided water bowls for the dogs to use as well as extra water if needed by helpers and competitors.
The atmosphere was excellent all day and our Centenary Celebration Cake was a much appreciated sweet treat for competitors at lunch time.

Our test sponsors, Skinner’s and Gundog Gear provided vouchers for our winners, with the Top Scoring NOVICE dog receiving the £25 Gundog Gear voucher. Skinner’s also kindly donated a selection of Field & Trial dog treats. We cannot express enough our gratitude for your wonderful support.
Thanks to everyone who helped the day run smoothly and special thanks to Anna Coates for providing the snacks, drinks and judge lunches – which were greatly received. The atmosphere was excellent all day.
A special mention to the brilliant helpers who offered to dummy throw and place. It made the organising much easier. We hope this continues!

STREATLAM PARK, CO. DURHAM -
14TH MAY 2023
Northumberland and Durham L.R.C. held their second working test of the 2023 season at the beautiful Streatlam Park by very kind permission of Captain N.C. Pease.
It was good to see Capt. Pease and his daughter who came to visit the tests and offered us the use of the ground in 2024.
Sincere thanks to members of our committee, Club members and non-members for their support today. Your help is invaluable and greatly appreciated.
With around 60 entries our Judges, Paul Hasney, Stewart North, Kevin Churnside and Paul Stogden did a great job of setting tests allowing the dogs to be realistically challenged in each category. We can’t thank our judges enough for giving up their time to allow the tests to go ahead.
The day flowed very well and ended with a raffle (thanks to everyone who contributed to the donations and of course purchased tickets).
This gave some time for the scores to be calculated ready for the results announcements and the club certificates were presented to all those placed. Of course these were all specifically made to celebrate our Centenary Year. (The rosettes will be posted out to everyone).
Our very generous sponsors Skinner’s provided vouchers for 1st to 3rd places, as well as prizes for the raffle. Gundog Gear kindly donated a £25 gift voucher to the highest scoring dog of the day in the OPEN category – Bill Lambell and Eiderbay Ribble
Club trophies were also awarded to our first placed member winners as follows:
PUPPY
1st Annette Clarke with DIGLAKE AMBLE OF GARRONPOINT (Lab D) and also awarded the Capercail Trophy.
2nd James Haley with KENZDUO SPRING (Lab B)
3rd Rebecca Thistle with CARDUEAE HAZEL (Lab B)
4th Lynda Currie with HOLMECLIFFE’S PIPPAS GIFT (Lab B)
NOVICE

2nd Rebecca Thistle with CARDUEAE EMILIA (Lab B)
3rd Tony Coburn with IZABELA PINK RHODONITE (Lab B)
4th Andrew Sharp with GIBBOLT ENCHANTEROUS OF AGGSDALE (Lab B)

2nd Patricia Prior with WILLOWCINDER KEILDER (Lab D)
3rd Ian Metcalfe with DUNHEAD JET (Lab D)
4th Eden Parish with TARNEDGE FLYNN (Lab D)
Congratulations to all the winners and also to everyone taking part today. It was an enjoyable day with nice weather.
Last but certainly not least, we cannot thank enough the people who volunteered to throw and place dummies. This helps the tests run effectively and we urge everyone to give up a little of their time to ensure we are not reliant on the same good natured volunteers time after time.
See you all at Allensford in a couple of weeks.

LEADHILL HOUSE, STOCKSFIELD -
23RD APRIL 2023
Today Northumberland and Durham L.R.C. returned to Leadhill House in Stocksfield for our first test of this, our Centenary year. Puppy, Junior Handler and Novice dogs were taking part.
We cannot thank our hosts Mr & Mrs Cowen enough for welcoming us back to their beautiful home and grounds and for their support of the Clubs events for so many years. (I remember coming to tests here over 15 years ago)! Mr & Mrs Cowen always enjoy meeting our competitors personally and watching the dog work on the day.
Sincere thanks to our Judges Brian Dodsworth, Raymond Holt, Sandra Richardson and Lynn Kirk who all generously gave up their Sunday to judge for us. Without their willingness, there would be no events.
Very special thanks to members and non-members who came to dummy throw and special mention to Anna Coates for providing the catering/snacks for judges and helpers.
Thanks to our brilliant dummy throwers and placers, without whom we would struggle to run our events. I hope everyone sees improvement after the interval dummy throwing game!
Our sincere appreciation goes to our test sponsors, Skinner’s for the pet food vouchers and much appreciated dog treats and also Gundog Gear for the £25 voucher for highest scoring novice dog.
Award winners were presented with ‘Centenary limited edition’ rosettes and certificates as well as Skinner’s vouchers with Top Scoring Novice dog also winning the £25 voucher from Gundog Gear.
Our Junior Handlers also received a large bar of chocolate which I am sure would have been opened before the end of the day.

2nd Lynda Currie with HOLMECLIFFE’S PIPPAS GIFT (Lab B)

EGGLESTON FELL - OPEN WORKING TESTS
JULY 3RD 2022
Northumberland and Durham Labrador Retriever Club held their final working test at the superb Eggleston Fell estate, by kind permission of Eggleston Estates and Gamekeeper, Mr Robert Beadle.
A standalone Open test on a ground that is recognised for its challenges! the dogs always seem to love the tough terrain. It's always new, as no one is permitted to train on this prestigious ground.
The day was cloudy but warm, then we had a few bursts of rain and wind which cooled everyone quickly. Luckily the midges didnt make an appearance which was very welcome!
Our sincere gratitude to our Judges, Thomas Bushby, Darren Thompson, Euan Heard and Jeff Smart. Thanks so much for giving up your free time to allow others to enjoy working their dogs. Also thanks to Jeff Smart for running the day too.
The tests set really pushed the dogs and judges decided that a cut would be held at lunchtime.
This narrowed the field dramatically and the remaining dogs were set two more tests, after which the scores could be added and winners announced.
Whilst the scores were being added, thanks to Lee Hartis for conducting a' jovial' raffle and thanks to those who donated prizes.
Our utmost appreciation goes to the team of helpers for dummy throwing today – you were all stars dealing with the changeable weather and difficult terrain. These days cannot go ahead without you. Our helpers were all given a gift with our thanks.
Massive thanks to committee member Anna Coates for sorting the catering for judges which was very welcome. Also Julie Smart for her help with the scores and just keeping Jeff in line!
1st Place – IAN PALMER with Marhystin King
2nd Place – KAREN PARKINSON with Torrisdale River
3rd Place – LEE HARTIS with FTCH Troddenmills Beck and Call Of Leacaz
4th Place – PAUL DUKES - FTCH Brocklebank Boorbon Of Ravencote
COM – WENDY GLUE with Troddenmills Get A Grip Of Dacreford
COM – CLAIRE CARVIS with Tarnedge Condore
Well done to all in the awards and everyone attending today. It was quite an emotional win for Ian, and all awards were thoroughly deserved.
Ian Palmer was awarded the J. Upton Smith memorial trophy, a SKINNERS VOUCHER for dog food, a new lead from sponsor TWICE BREWED TWINES and the £25 GUNDOG GEAR voucher for highest scoring dog of the day.
Club certificates were presented to all in the places with 1st to 4th receiving rosettes.
Awards 2nd to 4th were presented with Club lanyards from TWICE BREWED TWINES and
1st to 3rd SKINNER'S vouchers for dog food.
We hope you have all enjoyed our working tests this year, we feel we are doing something right with the number of entries we receive for each test day!
It’s a lot of hard work for such a few people to organise but we hope we are providing members with events that they enjoy.
Thank you for supporting the Club and we hope to see you all again next year. OUR CENTENARY YEAR.

STREATLAM PARK, PUPPY, NOVICE AND OPEN 12th JUNE 2022
Northumberland and Durham L.R.C. held their third test of the season at the beautiful, lush Durham countryside of Streatlam Park by very kind permission of Captain N.C. Pease. Captain Pease has already granted permission for the Club to return in 2023 and we are very appreciative of his gracious support for the Club for so many years.
Sincere thanks to Jeff Smart, members of our committee, Club members and non-members for their support today. Your help was invaluable.
Last year I wrote that we hoped 2022 would allow us to be back to full strength entries - pre-Covid restrictions – and we certainly were; with almost 100 entries in Puppy, Novice and Open categories.
Any trepidation on wondering what time everyone would get home, was quietened as our Judges: Lee Hartis Kevin Churnside, Michael Nelson and Paul Hasney set some great tests which allowed the dogs to be realistically challenged in each category.
The day flowed exceptionally well and ended with a very light hearted raffle with some nice prizes on offer (thanks to everyone who contributed to the donations and of course purchased tickets).
This gave some time for the scores to be calculated ready for the results ceremony and the club certificates and rosettes were presented to all those placed.
Our very generous sponsors Skinner’s provided vouchers for 1st to 3rd places, Gundog Gear again, kindly donated a £25 gift voucher to the highest scoring dog of the day and our new sponsor, Twice Brewed Twines provided some beautiful slip leads for 1st places and lanyards (made in Club Colours!) for 2nd and 3rd places.

3rd SALEMASKY BLACK TULIP handled and owned by EDEN PARISH
COM COPPERBIRCH FARRIER owned and handled by GRANT DAWSON
Congratulations to all the winners and also to everyone taking part today. It was a very enjoyable day with bit of sun, bit of wind and a bit of rain – but it certainly did not dampen the enthusiasm and enjoyment of all taking part.
It was a great atmosphere and the tests finished at a very reasonable time thanks to the actions of enthusiastic competitors, our Judges, Jeff Smart and some exceptional committee and non-committee help.
We cannot thank enough the people who volunteered to throw and place dummies. This exceptional help ensures the tests run effectively and we urge everyone to give up a little time at the tests to ensure we are not reliant on the same good natured volunteers time after time.

LEADHILL HOUSE 24/4/22
We cannot thank our hosts Mr & Mrs Cowen enough for welcoming us back to their beautiful home and grounds and for their support of the Clubs events for so many years. Mr & Mrs Cowen always enjoy meeting our competitors personally and watching the dog work on the day.
Sincere thanks to our Judges Bill Lambell, Joanne Wilson, Brian Dodsworth and Christopher Pilkington who have all freely given up their Sunday to judge for us. Without their willingness, there would be no events.
Very special thanks to our committee member Jeff Smart, for running our test day, it is greatly appreciated by the Club and I’m sure, the competitors. Also thank you to Jeff's wife Julie for supporting him throughout. Thanks also to those valuable committee members who came to help the day run smoothly (as well as club members too).
Thank you to Joanne Wilson, who has judged as well as providing lunch and snacks for our judges. Sadly for the Club! Joanne has decided to devote more time to her grandson and family and cannot commit to the catering or judging any longer. We would like to express our huge thanks to Joanne for all her help over the years.
Our sincere appreciation goes to our generous test sponsors, Skinners for the pet food vouchers, Gundog Gear for the £25 voucher for highest scoring puppy and our wonderful new sponsor, Twice Brewed Twines, who have provided vouchers and very lovely leads and lanyards for our working test winners. You are all very valued by us.
Thanks to our fantastic dummy throwers and placers. It makes the job of running the days so much easier knowing these people are making themselves available. Enjoy the wine!
We'd like to thank all of the members and non-members that have attended our tests today and it is great to see so many new people entering. We try hard to help you have a great day enjoying your dogs, and having interaction with other likeminded folk in such tremendous surroundings.

WELL DONE TO all our winners and everyone taking part.

PUPPY AND NOVICE WORKING TESTS, LEADHILL HOUSE, NORTHUMBERLAND - 1ST AUGUST 2021
We held our last set of working tests of the 2021 season on Sunday August 1st.
We cannot express enough gratitude to our hosts Mr & Mrs Cowen, for welcoming us back to their beautiful home and grounds and for their support of the Clubs events for countless years. Mr & Mrs Cowen always enjoy meeting our competitors personally and watching the dog work on the day.
Sincere thanks to our Judges Joanne Wilson, Brian Dodsworth, Eden Parish and Anna Coates who have all freely given up their Sunday to judge for us when they could be either running their dogs- or relaxing! Without their willingness, there would be no events.
Special thanks to our committee member Jeff Smart, for running our test days this year, in the absence of a permanent working test secretary. It is greatly appreciated by the Club and I’m sure, the competitors. Also thank you to Jeff's wife Julie for supporting him throughout. Thanks also to those committee members who have helped this year doing a variety of tasks.
Thank you to Joanne Wilson, who has judged as well as providing lunch and snacks for our judges all season, with cake, drinks and snacks for our dummy throwers too. Joanne also helps secure some of our wonderful test grounds.
Our sincere appreciation goes to our generous test sponsors, Skinners and Gundog Gear who have provided vouchers for our working test winners and have supported us so well throughout the years.
Thanks to our fantastic dummy throwers and placers. (Special thanks to those additional people who stepped up today to ensure the tests proceeded as planned.)
With over 400 members and several hundred people competing in our tests every year, we can still struggle to get willing volunteers for this extremely important role on the day. It should not fall in the main, to a small group, who in some cases give up the chance of running their own dogs, so you can run yours.
Please, if you are entering one category, consider helping in another, or bring a friend to help. It's unfair to expect the constant availability of a dozen or so people every time, all day. It's your Club, your events, so volunteer to help them continue. You can learn so much from watching the other dogs and handlers up close, which all helps towards your own training.
But finally on behalf of the Club, I'd like to thank all of the members and non-members, that have attended our tests this year. It’s been good seeing so many new people entering. We try hard to help you have a great day enjoying your dogs, and having interaction with other likeminded folk in such tremendous surroundings.
So now the results! WELL DONE TO you all and everyone taking part.

INTER CLUB OPEN DOG TEAM TEST. 14TH JULY 2019
This year the Inter club team tests were hosted by Burns and Becks Gundog Club at the stunning Garagill Estate, Alston. The hospitality from Burns and Becks was exemplary with a much appreciated barbecue followed by strawberries and cream.
We are very pleased to report that Northumberland and Durham Labrador Retriever Club won the competition this year with some excellent scores.
Our Team: Lee Hartis with Troddenmills Full Throttle Of Leacaz
Steve McDermott with Westmacott Gunner
Grant Dawson with Copperbirch Farrier
Brian Dodsworth with Hazeloaks Wigeon
N & D Team Judge: Mrs Carole Clarke
Top Dog went to Team Member, Lee Hartis with Troddenmills Full Throttle Of Leacaz.
Our Team were selected based on consistency of performances throughout the 2019 test season and we cannot thank you all enough for agreeing to run and represent Northumberland and Durham LRC. Our sincere thanks to Carole Clarke also for agreeing to judge on behalf of N&D.
The tests set were challenging but achievable for open standard dogs and we would like to pass on our sincere thanks to Kirsty Howson and the committee of Burns and Becks for organising a very good event and providing such welcome hospitality.

OPEN WORKING TESTS, EGGLESTON FELL, DURHAM (30TH JUNE 2019)
By very kind permission of Eggleston Estates and Head Gamekeeper Mr Robert Beadle
and with thanks to Judges:- Mr Glyn Coupar, Mr David Logan, Miss Shamanthi Shankar and
Mr Drew Allan
Our final working test of the season was held on the stunning Eggleston Fell, which provides exceptionally demanding terrain for dog and handler. The massive 55 entries for this Open event provided the judges with some difficult decisions. The judges set six working tests for runners over the day as well as a three way run off for 3rd place. The weather was warm and cloud helped greatly in keeping temperatures bearable and the slight breeze was welcome - we could have done without the odd shower but the conditions served to ward off the midges who never made an appearance all day. The small stream helped keep the dogs cool.
The challenging tests were designed to push the dogs; and all competitors were very pleased with the standard of tests set. The day was over at a reasonable time considering the number of dogs.
1st Place – Copperbirch Farrier – Mr Grant Dawson
2nd Place – Salemasky Black Tulip - Mrs Eden Parish
After a three dog run off:-
3rd Place – Thornyoaks Tanzanite – Mr Gary Collier (Owner A. Collier)
C.O.M.'s to :-
FTCH Troddenmills Beck and Call Of Leacaz - Mr Lee Hartis
Shadeoak Major - Mr Christopher Pilkington
All placings were presented with N & D certificates with 1st to 3rd places also receiving rosettes. The member winner was also awarded with The J. Upton Smith Memorial Trophy.
A £25 voucher from sponsor Gundog Gear for the "Highest scoring dog of the Day", was presented to :- COPPERBIRCH FARRIER (Grant Dawson)
Well done to everyone attending and all our award winners.
Our wholehearted gratitude to Skinners Pet Foods for their invaluable help throughout this season, generously providing vouchers for our winners throughout the year, as well as armbands and any other assistance requested. Thanks also to Gundog Gear who have again, generously provided us with a £25 voucher for each event this year, which goes to the top scoring dog in chosen categories.
Our sincere thanks to the volunteers that came forward and threw and placed dummies who were invaluable. All were presented with a gift and our heartfelt thanks. It was disappointing to see at this event, a distinct lack of volunteers to help with dummy throwing and placing - but those that did assist were thanked with a just reward - a pair of Empire Cinema tickets (worth around £20) and a bottle of wine. This was thoroughly deserved after such a long day on exceptionally difficult terrain. THANK YOU.
Without judges and dummy throwers and placers, events could not go ahead; and we are very appreciative of your support. Should support not be forthcoming, we may have to cancel tests in the future.
Sincere thanks were also given to committee member Joanne Wilson (for yet again catering for the judges throughout the season and getting access for us to some superb test and trial grounds). Also committee member Sonja Ludwig who has been ever present to help with dummy throwing and any duties asked of her. Massive thanks to Julie Smart who has thrown dummies, ran dogs, sold raffle tickets (and more), all season and all with a smile!
I hope everyone has enjoyed the N & D tests this season and we look forward to seeing you at our Field Trials later in the year.

PUPPY, NOVICE AND OPEN TESTS, STREATLAM PARK, CO. DURHAM (9 JUNE)
By kind permission of Captain N.C. Pease and with thanks to Judges:- Mr Tom West (A panel), Mr Fred Smith, Miss Julia Johnston and Mr Ian Metcalfe
Our fourth working event of the test season was held at the very popular and stunning grounds of Streatlam Park, Bishop Auckland.
This stunning estate was the setting for the challenging tests set by our judges in each category. The weather was very warm and luckily there was a stream available for the dogs to have a cool down if needed.
Sincere thanks are expressed to our working event sponsors, Skinner's Pet Foods and Gundog Gear and we cannot thank our judges enough for giving up their spare time to help put on the event for everyone to enjoy running their dogs.
Thanks also to our brilliant dummy throwers and placers, without whom we would couldn’t put these days on.
It is becoming very difficult to have people volunteer for especially the Open category of our tests which is sad, as those entering Open tests come early to help to ensure the puppy and novice tests go ahead.
If we do not get more support in this respect, we may have to look at dropping some of the tests which would be a great shame, as everyone should be looking to help out to ensure the days go ahead. We ask that competitors consider this as a matter of urgency as our working tests are always exceptionally well subscribed, yet to get people to dummy throw - you would not think so many attended. Committee members can only do so much. Bring a friend or stay longer, to ensure your tests remain available
The results and many congratulations go to:

OPEN WORKING TEST, EGGLESTON FELL, CO. DURHAM - (8/7/2018)
By very kind permission of Mr Michael Stone and Gamekeeper Mr Robert Beadle
and with thanks to Judges:- Mr Glyn Coupar, Mr Allan Downie, Ms Kirsty Cousins and Mr Paul Stogden
Our final working test of the season was held on the stunning Eggleston Fell with exceptionally demanding terrain for dog and handler; and brought together quality Open standard dogs for a total of 6 working tests over the day. The tests were static in the morning with two walk-ups in the afternoon.
The weather was warm but cloud helped greatly in keeping temperatures bearable and a slight breeze all day was welcome - and of course served to ward off the dreaded midges who never made an appearance all day. The small stream helped keep the dogs cool.
The challenging tests were designed to push the dogs, and all competitors were very pleased with the standard of tests set.

The atmosphere was as always, good humoured and friendly and we did finish at a reasonable time. Unfortunately Capt. Pease was away this weekend but had already spoken to Jeff Smart and offered us the ground for 2019. We are very lucky that we are the only club allowed to use Streatlam and cannot thank Capt. Pease for his long standing support of our Club's events.

By kind permission of Lord Allendale and Dukesfield Shooting Syndicate
and with thanks to Judges:- Mr Thomas Bushby (3342B), Mr Paddy Merrall (3628NP), Mr Ian Palmer (3734NP) and Mrs Karen Parkinson (NP)
Our third working event of the test season was held at the excellent Dukesfield in Slaley by very kind permission of Lord Allendale and Dukesfield Shooting Syndicate.
The diverse landscape and flourishing trees gave a lush setting to four challenging but achievable tests in each of the three categories and the day was very warm, with day long sun shine. Luckily there was a small river for the dogs to cool off in during the day.
The entries to all categories were tremendous with almost 90 entries in total. We did have a couple of late cancellations but the judges had gone above and beyond the day before, knowing the large running card; and visited the ground the day before to set the tests. This enabled proceedings to start promptly and with good organisation and helpers or extra long lunch breaks, we finished at the very respectable time of 5pm - which included a run-off in the Open.
Sincere thanks are expressed to our working event sponsors, Skinner's Pet Foods and Gundog Gear and we cannot thank our judges enough for giving up their spare time to help put on the event and Lord Allendale and the Syndicate for allowing to use this wonderful ground.
Our dummy throwers and placers were as always invaluable and were rewarded with our sincere appreciation and a set of two cinema tickets to an Empire Cinema of their choice. These were kindly donated by Empire Cinema, Sunderland.
